Description: just acquired a problem with what i had planned to start using for a work truck......truck came with a broken, missing starter bolt, and just my luck, shifted enough out of place on my way to re-register it.:-(......been fiddling with it for a week now on and off having a heck of a time getting it lined up right to actually crank the engine. Got it started today but with grinding, so still isnt right. Perhaps needs shimmed as well?? Ive never had a vehicle that required such precise starter positioning and i am running out of patience and lost work time fiddling with it, so it's up for sale.broken bolt has been drilled out but far less than perfect, which isnt helping matters so i'm clamping that side down in the process of finding the exact spot. if i get it straight and right before long i'll still sale because i had to acquire another truck already. But then i will shoot for $1,500 since it really is a sturdy, straight very usable truck with several new parts to include: freeze plugs, belt, hoses, starter, solenoid, starter cables, oil, spark plugs, air filter, new wiper motor and blades......and has quite good tires with low miles and a spare.Pretty decent interior condition. heat/AC tilt, power windows. nice chrome bumpers. working dual tanks, receiver hitch. hardly any dents in body. good quiet exhaust with full emissions. Strong engine, no smoke, nice strong clutch and good transmission.
needs clips for tailgate latch/rods.....to open gate. i installed new gate handle already but needs the little clips from Ford. needs one rear window sliding post, passenger side to close properly. could use new tint on three of the windows, since they are scratched and one is bubbled. needs either new idler arm or maybe just tie rod end cause i noticed the front wandered a bit in the 2 miles i actually drove it! But those parts are cheap. I had already greased the front end also. In other words.......aside from current starter situation.....good work/hunt although it is just 2 WHEEL drive.
asking $1,100 right now before i spend any more time or money on it. that pays back what i have into it... heck, maybe someone could part this truck out and make a profit. That 4.9 fuel injected six, gear driven engine was a tough and had longevity. thanks, and share your thoughts.
p.s....i am removing the bed tool box to keep cause i need it for another truck, it's not in great shape anyway.
