Fairmont 1960 A3-D-3, have the birthing papers and it was originally sold to the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad, 70s era Ford 1.6L [98ci] engine, think it is industrial? Borg Warner 4 speed trans, with forward and reverse differential. When I bought this 22+ years ago the guy didn’t know anything about the engine [it has been in the barn or well covered all of those years, until early last fall when I started working on it. I have tons of pix of 7+ months of work. Had the top and bottom off of the engine all looked good, one cylinder was lightly stuck so put in 4 sets of standard rings. The bearings are all still standard and looked very good. Some of the new parts, new aluminum welded radiator with electric cooling fan, stainless steel hoses, new carburetor, new starter, good battery, all new wiring, and gauges, all new lights some LED, horns, seats [have three sets of seat belts you will need to install yourself, if wanted,] have hand holds for passengers, tow bar and tow hitches, front and read push handles, rear pull out turning bar. Flags, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, many coats of new paint, looks fairly good. All glass in in good shape. Probably one of the most important things has all new brake shoes and insulating blocks from Stuart Remmers at S and E Rail Car Parts. I believe the 16” pressed wheels are all good? It’s been over 20 years since I was shown how to measure them. I do have 3 extra wheels for sale. Have changed the grease in the trans and diff and of course oil and filter and anti freeze. Think I have found and greased all zerks?
