Description:1997 BMW Z3 convertible, 1.9L, 5 speed, A/C, new battery, 191,7XX miles. Located in La Luz. Asking $1900, reduced from $2500.
The car has been driven very little in the past year, and before that was mostly a weekend driver. With a new battery installed, it started up immediately. The A/C appears to be working as does the radio, but not sure about the CD player. Power windows go up and down.
The right rear corner of the convertible top has pulled away from the body. This has caused rainwater to leak into the trunk and settle in the battery compartment, which shows some rust, but doesn’t appear to have rusted through. Operation of the convertible top has not been checked.
The trunk lock does not function and will need to be repaired, so currently the only way to open the trunk is to use a piece of solid wire through a hole behind the BMW emblem and trigger the lock manually. The trunk lid emblem is currently not on the vehicle but is in the trunk. There are YouTube videos on this topic as it seems to be a common issue.
Included is a fairly new full-size aftermarket wheel (not OEM) and tire. Also included is a car cover with some holes and tears but it does offer protection from the sun and from rainwater entering the trunk until the top is repaired.
I am listing this vehicle for a friend (the owner), so may not be able to respond immediately to questions as I will have to seek answers from him.
