The process
We took that ancient wisdom and gave it a modern twist.
Today, we use oxygen-free kilns, heat the wood to around 400°F, and cool it with steam.
Basically, it's a four-day sauna treatment for the wood.
This process cooks out sugars (bugs hate that), collapses the cell walls, and locks out moisture from the inside out.
